We invite filmmakers to prompt, generate, and edit films that authentically represent Bangladesh, from the intricate motifs of a Dhakaiya rickshaw to the distinct atmosphere of our rural landscapes.

Rules & Guidelines
- ●Theme Compliance: The core narrative and visuals must strongly reflect Bangladeshi culture, landscape, or identity.
- ●Narrative Cohesion: Films must present a clear, structured story or concept. Disjointed or purely random AI-generated clips without clear directorial intent will not be evaluated.
- ●Technical Specifications: Length: 2 to 5 minutes. Format: MP4 (1080p minimum).
- ●AI Transparency: Upon final submission, participants must provide a brief 'Prompt & Tool Breakdown' detailing the generative tools used for visuals, script, and audio.
- ●Communication: All upload links and exact submission deadlines will be provided directly via email. Please ensure your registered contact details are accurate.
- ●Jury Discretion: The evaluation by the Ministry of ICT & Brain Lab jury panel will be final and binding.

Is the workshop mandatory? +
Participation is optional but strongly encouraged. These sessions are designed to align your project with the competition’s technical and creative evaluation criteria.
Which AI tools are permitted for film production? +
You may utilize any generative AI platforms (e.g., Runway, Luma, Pika). However, a brief 'Process Report' detailing your toolset and prompts must be included with your submission.
What are the participation and team size requirements? +
We welcome submissions from individual creators or teams consisting of up to three (3) members. Cross-institutional teams are permitted and encouraged.
What are the technical specifications for submission? +
Films must be submitted in MP4 format with a minimum resolution of 1080p. A comprehensive technical handbook will be shared with all registered participants.
What is the submission process? +
Detailed technical instructions and a comprehensive upload guide will be shared with all registered participants through their primary email and mobile contact channels.
Who owns the copyright to the films submitted? +
Participants retain full ownership and copyright of their creative work. However, by submitting to banAI, you grant the Ministry of ICT and Brain Lab a non-exclusive license to screen, promote, and showcase the films across official digital and physical platforms for non-commercial purposes.
Can Bangladeshis living abroad participate in the competition? +
Yes. banAI is open to all Bangladeshi citizens worldwide. While workshops and initial rounds can be conducted online, please note that finalists may be required to attend the Grand Finale in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in person.
Are there any restrictions on the type of content or themes I can explore? +
While creative freedom is encouraged, all submissions must adhere to ethical standards. Films containing hate speech, sensitive political misinformation, or explicit content will be disqualified. We encourage a focus on storytelling that is respectful of the cultural and social values of Bangladesh.
Will The Ministry of ICT provide subscriptions to paid AI tools for the competition? +
Participants are expected to use their own resources and tools for film production. However, during the Phase 2 Masterclasses, we will demonstrate how to achieve high-quality results using a mix of free, freemium, and open-source AI models.
